V.I.P.

Volunteers In Progress

Youth In Action

V.I.P. is designed to promote volunteerism in the younger generation.  The goal is to offer opportunities for students to learn how to minister to the needs of those around them.  By becoming focused on helping people, we become more others-oriented in life.  Kaitlyn Wilson has worked with several organizations and wants to give individuals the chance to be directly involved by providing volunteer opportunities for different activities.  The purpose of V.I.P. is to build a generation of generous and compassionate young adults.
The V.I.P.
motto is
"From Youthful Seeds
Grow Mighty Trees"

"I may be young with a lot to learn, but I can still make a difference to those around me."

And she really does!  Kaitlyn Wilson is a 17 year old student with a heart for helping others.  She initiated V.I.P. in an effort to offer other young people the opportunity to get involved in a world bigger than the one they live in.  At an early age, Kaitlyn began volunteering with her parents at church and school.  Part of her continuing volunteer activities include taking an active role helping with the Cinderella Society, which ministers to children with cancer, and helping with dresses and patient preparation for the prom at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.  She has also been involved in efforts to support and further the interests of a number of organizations, including Special Olympics, Children's Miracle Network, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Gilda's Club of Dallas, and Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS.  Kaitlyn has assisted with VBS in Mexico, served many meals for the homeless, collected used clothing and items for the needy, as well as purchased, collected and assembled gifts for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree.

"I realized that the more I do for others, the less selfish I am.  It is a wonderful feeling to know that I can truly help change someone's day or even their situation for the better."
